making the bed

I could not resist buying a new quilt.  It doesn't matter that I already have two others plus two duvets.  I just knew I had to have this Fred Shand quilt.  The pattern felt a little more masculine to me than the two other quilts that I have.  In order to make it more feminine, I used the standard shams and euro shams from my other quilt collections.  I love the mix of pattern and texture.  Such an anthro bed for a very anthro house.  Love.

pho real

A delicous bowl of yumminess.  I probably went to eat pho twice a month living in California.  I had a family that loved to eat it as well as friends.  I think I pretty much stopped eating it my first year here in Vegas.  People either did not like to eat it or did not know what it is.  Sadness.

But now I have met friends that love eating this as much as I do.  I don't go that often, but enjoy it every time I get a chance.  I was able to get some this past weekend after craving it for a while.  We didn't forget the eggrolls of course!  Yumm.

my prissy one...

Lucy does little things that make me laugh. We went for a walk at the park one day and there is this dirt/gravel path that goes around the park. Instead of walking on this pathway, she decided to walk along the concrete ledge. It reminded me of myself. I hate walking on the beach without any type of shoe. I'd much rather walk on grass in closed toe shoes. And sometimes, when I take her to the little park in my community, I walk on the ledge. When she did this the whole way around the park, I couldn't help but laugh.

minty fresh

Life without any color is boring. I had these bar stools that I picked up from Target for a while. Every time I would stare at them, I always told myself that I need to paint it. Who wants to stare at cheapy light colored wood? Not me. Finally, months after talking, I got to doing. Went to Home Depot and picked up Botanical Tint...a lovely, minty green. Now I look at them and they are not such an eyesore. That same day, the Eugenia Kim for Target line was launched and I picked up a hat.  Love the hat, love the stool.

fashion show

I was able to be involved in a fashion presentation for a luncheon at the M Resort this past Saturday.  I was a bit nervous to be actually part of the presentation as I am much used to background work.  Walking and smiling (at nothing) while ladies lunched.  A little nerve racking.  But, I had a blast.  It reminded me of being back in school and working on the annual fashion show or helping out at LA fashion week.  I miss that energy sometimes.

clark county fair

The Orange County Fair was something I always looked forward to every July.  For the last 8 years, we would go.  How fun it was to play the pricey carnival games and fill our tummies with funnel cake, roasted corn, bbq, and all the other yummy junk.

Then, we moved to Vegas, and have missed the OC Fair for the last 2 years.  I did not know that Clark county had their very own fair.  All the way out in Longdale, NV...about an hour away from Vegas.  It was a lot smaller than what I am used to, but fun nonetheless.  Played a couple games, saw the animals, and got my fill of funnel cake.  I don't know if I would ever go again, but it was nice to relive my fair memories if even just for a moment.
