my lucy...

I never thought I would get a dog. Actually, I never thought I would have a dog of my own. Growing up, I was always really scared of them. Seeing one would send me straight into the arms of my parents.

We went puppy looking one day and came across this teeny, fluffy thing at a pet store. She was very quiet and did not seem to care one way or another about anything. There were two other puppies there, jumping and yapping away. We were immediately taken by her. I never had a dog, so I did not know what was really going on, but found out months later that one of the reasons we really bought her was because she looked very sick. She was much too thin for a puppy and had no energy. And as it turns out, she was sick. It took vet visit after visit in order to get her better...

And she is now. She is a healthy, growing pup. The amount of responsibility to care for a dog is tremendous. I can't begin to imagine what it may be like to have children. And even though it gets tiring, I have grown immensely attached. She frustrates me when she gets into things or tears up the house, but I love her. She is a huge part of my life now and even when things in life are getting rough, she makes me smile.
